Authorship

ISPEC Journal of Agricultural Sciences follows the ICMJE 2024 current Recommendations on authorship and contributorship. To qualify for authorship, an individual must satisfy all four conditions below. Everyone listed as an author must meet all four conditions, and everyone who meets all four conditions should be identified as an author.

1. The individual must have made a meaningful scholarly contribution to the study idea or design, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of the data;

2. The individual must have participated in drafting the manuscript or in critically revising it for substantial intellectual content;

3. The individual must have approved the final version for publication;

4. The individual must agree to accept responsibility for the work as a whole, including helping to investigate and resolve any concerns about accuracy or integrity.

Contributors who do not meet all four conditions should not be listed as authors and should instead be acknowledged where appropriate. Funding support alone, data collection alone, general supervision, administrative support, technical editing, language editing, or proofreading do not by themselves justify authorship.

Mandatory CRediT Contributor Statement

Each author’s contribution must be declared at the start of the manuscript in a dedicated Author Contributions section of the manuscript and in the submission form, using one or more of the following 14 NISO CRediT roles:

-Conceptualization

-Data curation

-Formal analysis

-Funding acquisition

-Investigation

-Methodology

-Project administration

-Resources

-Software

-Supervision

-Validation

-Visualization

-Writing – original draft

-Writing – review & editing

CRediT supports transparency, but it does not by itself determine authorship eligibility; authorship remains governed by the ICMJE criteria. For every listed author, at least one CRediT role must be completed as a mandatory field in the submission form.

Authorship changes follow the procedure at /changeofauthorship are managed under the journal’s Change of Authorship policy; any addition, removal, or re-ordering of authors must be justified and approved by all listed authors.
